Set in 67 acres of glorious Avon river valley sits Hazelwood, an early Victorian country house surrounded by unspoiled woodland and countryside.

The house has 14 comfortable bedrooms, many with en-suite facilities and valley views. The restaurant serves only the best in local and organic produce, opening for lunch, dinner and cream teas.

Hazelwood is licensed for civil ceremonies and weddings, most taking place in the beautifully restored chapel with its magnificent carved wooden angels.

An eclectic program of concerts, events and workshops is hosted throughout the year, as Hazelwood has plenty of space and provides the ideal setting for business away days, gatherings and seminars. Put simply, Hazelwood offers food, nature, art, beauty, peace, space to be.........

The beautiful restored chapel is the ideal location for a simple or chic wedding or civil ceremony, offering space and natural light. 12 wooden, hand carved angels line the main chapel walls and there is a baby Bechstein piano in the corner.

Blessings in the valley are another popular choice with ceremonies held around an ancient standing stone as well as by the river.Couples can have sole use of the entire house if they wish as well as the chapel. The house has a large drawing room, ideal for dancing.

Wedding feasts are often taken along the flower filled veranda with the option of a barbecue, sit down meal or buffet. The chef is happy to discuss your requirements and design a menu with you.

The chapel can accommodate approximately 100 people for a seated concert, ceremony or an evening of dancing.

The main house dining room can seat approx. 40 people comfortably with space to expand onto the veranda through french doors as well as extending into the drawing room. Ideally 120 people would be the maximum.

There are 14 bedrooms allowing for approx. 30 people to stay in the house as well as several basic cottages for extra room.

At Hazelwood we take great consideration for the surrounding countryside and grounds. We have a natural spring water source high in minerals and only use Ecover cleaning products.

Our food is local and organic wherever possible.

Our linen is mostly Fair trade.

We also have our own compost and grow as many fruit and vegetables as we can, utilizing the wild garlic and other herbs growing naturally on the grounds.

Hazelwood is only 30 minutes in either direction to some of Devon's best beaches and the spectacular Dartmoor National Park.

There are plenty of activities and centres for those seeking adventure. Plymouth and Exeter are within an hours drive for shopping.

The market towns of Kingsbridge and Totnes are 20 minutes drive in either direction. The surrounding valley has many beautiful trails and walks to be explored, with Blackdown Rings, an ancient iron aged hill fort, only half a mile up the road.
